Yard Waste Drop-Off


The Dover City Compost Collection will close on Friday, December 1, 2023! The last day of operation is Thursday, November 30, 2023.  

The City of Dover, partnering with the Stark, Tuscarawas, Wayne Joint Solid Waste Management District, is proud to offer our residential yard waste collection center for the convenience of residents in Stark, Tuscarawas and Wayne Counties.  

RESIDENTIAL USE ONLY - NO COMMERCIAL USE  (Violators will be prosecuted)

City of Dover reserves the right to refuse dump truck loads, trailer loads or excessive loads. 

Location:
100 North Tuscarawas Avenue (behind the Waste Water Treatment Plant)

Directions:  Turn off of North Tuscarawas Avenue toward the waste water treatment plant.  Follow that road through the first set of gates, to the gravel roadway.  Follow the gravel roadway approximately 100 yards to the green, roll-off containers that are used to collect the yard waste.

Hours of Operation:  
May 1st - September 31st (Summer Hours)
8:00 AM till 9:00 PM

October 1st - April 30th (Winter Hours)
8:00 AM till 7:00 PM

PRODUCTS MAY ONLY BE DEPOSITED DURING HOURS OF OPERATION LISTED ABOVE.

Acceptable Items (ALL ITEMS MUST BE UN-BAGGED):

  • Grass clippings
  • Flower clippings
  • Garden clippings
  • Leaves
  • Branches
  • Shrubs

NO TRASH
NO CONSTRUCTION OR BUILDING MATERIALS
NO TIRES
NO RECYCLABLES (no paper, bottles, cans, etc.)

ALL VIOLATORS WILL BE FINED (ORC 3767.32) AND LOSE YARD WASTE COLLECTION SITE PRIVILEGES!
