WORK SCHEDULE

ROTATING SHIFT WORK; INCLUDING WEEKENDS & HOLIDAYS

QUALIFICATIONS

Under the direction of the Water/Wastewater Superintendent and the Assistant Wastewater Superintendent, performs semiskilled work progressing with additional experience and schooling to a skilled level in the operation and maintenance of the City Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Position requires a good knowledge of a variety of hydraulic, chemical and mechanical principles pertinent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant operation; knowledge of the bacteriological and chemical process involved in the treatment of wastewater; and knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work. 

Must possess the ability to understand and to follow moderately complex oral and written instructions and diagrams and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, representatives of other agencies, and other employees.

Position requires the successful candidate to obtain a minimum of a Class I Ohio Water Reclamation Operator Certification as issued by the State of Ohio within 36 months from the month of the appointment. 

The successful candidate may use Ohio Wastewater Collection Class I or II License for Class I or II pay classification during the 36-month period.

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY.

PREREQUISITE TO BID

Must possess a valid Ohio Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and be insurable with the City of Dover’s insurance carrier to drive all vehicles the position requires.
