Water & Sewer

The City of Dover is fortunate to have long enjoyed clear, clean and abundant drinking water from well fields maintained by the employees of the water department. The water is so clean, that Dover was the last city east of the Mississippi River to treat its water supply, which was accomplished in the late 1990s. Dover's water is now filtered and contains a small amount of chlorine for sanitation reasons. No fluoride is used and the water is not softened prior to distribution.

For more information, or to report problems with your water service or sanitary sewer, call the Dover Wastewater Treatment Plant at (330) 343-3443. Calls concerning problems with sewer and water should be directed to the Water/Wastewater Departments before calling a plumber. The facility is staffed 24 hours a day and your call will be directed to the proper personnel. If you reach a voicemail, please leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible.
