Police, Fire, EMS A History of Dover - Old House Pictures Hello From Mayor Rick Council Business

REFUSE

We make a lot of it, and what we make goes to the landfill to be buried in the earth.

We as Americans spend more on trash bags than the next seven developed nations spend on... everything.

Next time you're throwing something away, consider if it can be recycled. Dover offers a full curbside recycling program. Your recyclables can be picked up along with your regular refuse on the last trash pickup day of each month. To find out how you can participate in the City's recycling program, call the Service Director's Office at (330) 343-6725.

Talkin' Trash:

"How often is my trash picked up?"
Trash pickup is done weekly.

"What day is my trash pickup day?"
If you are unsure of which day the trash truck come to your street, call the Utility office at (330) 343-7725 to find out for sure.

"Who picks up my trash?"
J&J Refuse is the City's trash pickup contractor.

"How much does trash pickup cost each month?"
Trash pickup is billed with your regular utility bill each month at $7.60

"What will they take or not take away?"
They will take just about anything that isn't considered medical waste. Your old television, furniture do-it-yourself project scrap, refrigerator (freon must be removed professionally or you'll be billed for removal), car parts, paint cans, etc. If you have doubts about the item you want to put out - set it out with your trash. if it's still there after the rest of your stuff is picked up - then you know that wasn't on the list!
They will NOT pick up any container (usually orange or red) containing bio-waste. For this you must contact the appropriate removal agent. They also will not pick up limbs or brush, or broken concrete or rocks. For these items, call the Service Director's office at (330) 343-6726. Be prepar
ed to wait up to several days for removal of these items as it is performed on a time-available basis.

"I only put out one bag, my neighbor puts out 624 bags, yet we are charged the same. Can I get a discount?"
You are charged a flat rate for the service of trash collection, not per bag. A discount is available based on need for low-income families. For more information, contact the utility office at electric at doverohio dot com. Or call (330) 343-7725.
